BeOne Karma nominated for bicycle of the year!

Wednesday November 12, 2008
Of course, you can make your cycle rounds in the sports hall in the winter or cycle laps on the track. But then you would certainly miss the fresh air, the technical challenge and variety, the fun to get dirty, and maybe the one day when the world is white, you could have enjoyed a lot of crisp snow. No, the best solution is to have a mountain bike that you can use everywhere. The BeOne Karma is a good example, a solid aluminium hardtail.

BeOne has changed the geometry considerably since last year. This is now similar to the carbon models. It means that it is more sporty, with lighter and more accurate steering. Rockshox Recon XC-forks together with the Schwalbe Rocket Ron tires ensures better grip and control. This makes it very suitable for anyone who has sports aspirations in the winter. BeOne does not assemble complete XT groups. The gear change is a little slower as the crank set and cassette are of simpler quality which is not a disgrace in this price-range. When the cassette needs to be changed an upgrade to SLX can be made which significantly improves the gear change. There is really nothing to negotiate on the bars and stem because they are from Syntace, which stands for light and indestructible.

In the field the Karma is a real throw-and-fling bike. Changing directions is quick and precise and with minimal effort you can fully concentrate on the trail ahead. The seating is really sporty and more relaxed than you might want from a winter bike. With so many qualities you will want to use this bike all year round and not just as a winter training bike.
